a certain undetermined or unspecific thing: Something was wrong there. Something’s happening.
something
It’s Tuesday again, and you know what that means… today is Truth Be Told Tuesday. Thanks for checking in.
Let’s keep it short today and cover off on four “somethings” we all need in our life and one observation concerning truth:
1. Something to believe in.
I choose to believe in God. Colossians 1:16 states; “Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see- kings, kingdoms, rulers and authorities. Everything has been created through Him and for Him.” Everything includes me.
2. Something to do.
Work is good for the mind, body and soul. Our vocation is important and should be taken seriously. Anyone that has quality employment is a very blessed person. You don’t need to be a CEO, you just need to have something that you’re responsible for and someone professionally you report to. Even if you own your own business you’re still responsible to your customer. And on the importance of having something to do, remember that idol hands are the devils workshop. If you still don’t believe me waste a half hour of your life and watch “NBA Wives” on VH1 (or the Housewives of any county or city on Bravo) and tell me that not having something to do isn’t counterproductive and creates a miserable existence. It also causes misery for everyone around you. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and find something productive to do on a daily basis.
3. Someone to love.
We all need someone to love unconditionally and someone to love us unconditionally.
4. Something to hope for.
Dream. Dream. Dream. Walt Disney said it best when he said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Hope equals courage.
Below is a short note I wrote in my Bible in 2007. The entry is located between the book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes:
April 8, 2007
.
“Don’t negotiate the truth or what is good or right. Use a measured approach when trying to resolve conflict so as to keep the conflict from escalating. Be firm but calm, let your yes be yes and your no be no; not negotiating, nor being contentious. Always be firm but fair; viewing things from the other side; put yourself in the other person’s shoes. Finally, remember there are times that will serve everyone well when one person gives up their right to be right. Be secure and confident that you’re standing on the side of truth in a matter, and with that knowledge based on the truth, there are times it’s simply better to be silent. Maturity will aid you on knowing when to speak and when to remain silent.”
That is my “Truth Be Told” for April 30, 2014. (tbtt . #54)
